Welcome

There is a meditation I do where I sit on the grass and imagine the energy of the trees, their roots beneath me and the complex web of life connecting it all, until my sense of physical body melts away and I feel energetically entwined with the natural world.
It feels like coming home. This is the feeling I want my paintings to bring.

I wish you were here so I could share in person my favorite moments in each painting. Meantime, please look around my studio-on-the-web, zoom close, and reach out with any questions.

Mocha latte
$910.00

Oil on unstretched linen. 60cm x 90cm. Requires framing to hang (framing can be arranged on request)

It’s the time of year for hot chocolate, mocha latte, cashmere and cosy nooks. Something about the earthy warmth of this pocket of forest reminded me of luxe leather couches and throw rugs.

That’s why I call my artworks ‘cosy wild places’; because to me they feel like coming home. The forest floor is the ancestral home for we Homo sapiens, bringing the soul-memory of 300,000 years of thriving there, right? We’ve always been connected, it’s remembering.

Shipping Australia-wide. This piece comes to you as a roll of painted canvas fabric (high quality linen, actually) in a mailing tube. This saves metres of plastic bubblewrap (Mother Nature thanks you!), and makes delivery far easier to handle for you. Any framer can easily prepare it for hanging, by attaching to a backing frame then adding the decorative outer frame of your choice. The price is lower on my 'unstretched' paintings to accommodate the extra step.

Ochre rush
$1,900.00

Oil on unstretched linen. 120cm x 90cm (final hanging size).

From a trickle through the moss and ruts of an ancient volanco, a creek tumbles out into the sun - swaying between warm rock and mineral glitter.

Large loose brushwork and water wash keep this piece lively and organic. Just as in the mineral-rich turquoise waters of the actual river, the splashes of turquoise were a thrilling accent to the ochre tones and darkest olive and grey. Inspired by the seven waterfalls of Kawazu, on Japan's Izu Peninsula.

Unstretched paintings are much easier to ship/handle and save reems of plastic bubblewrap. Prices are lower to allow for a framer to prepare over a stretching frame prior to framing.
