Oil on linen. 45cm x 150cm.
Dense with delicate textures, this piece is at once rich and simple. I loved the serenity of the white gum and the straight lines. The perfect balance of chaos and calm in this little pocket of forest created a sense of safety for me.
A minimalist split-complementary palette of warm and cool green against with reddish-ochre enhaced the sense of balance and simplicity, while the use of water wash on the gum tree and background let light bounce back out from the white surface for a pure, unlaboured finish.
Shipping Australia-wide. This piece comes to you as a roll of painted canvas fabric (high quality linen, actually) in a mailing tube. This saves metres of plastic bubblewrap (Mother Nature thanks you!), and makes delivery far easier to handle for you. Any framer can easily prepare it for hanging, by attaching to a backing frame then adding the decorative outer frame of your choice. The price is lower on my 'unstretched' paintings to accommodate the extra step.
