As we spend more time snuggled in our homes in midwinter, I’m drawn again to the ancestral home for we ground-dwelling mammals: the forest floor. Here, the tangles of undergrowth protect countless burrows, nests and hollows for the wombats, potoroos, bandicoots, possums, birds and many more - all making a cosy space and prepping for fresh starts and babies in the spring.
Midnight blue - the colour of endless night skies and deepest oceans - seemed the perfect foundation for a wintry world to take viewers deep within, where all those magical places can be found.
