In a perfect balance of warm and cool, and the grounding colours of earth I became completely immersed in this pocket of forest. Time fell away and there was only the lovely embrace of a habitat that provided everything needed to the creatures here.
This piece is richly layered with delicate, organic mark making using a variety of tools and subtle nuances of colour to build the layers of forest understorey. The blue-brown palette explored that balance of warmth and freshness in the forest, and I found the bright mid-blue thrilling against the orange tones.
